CiteGuard checks citations against external scholarly databases and can optionally generate a short AI summary of the verification report.

What We Process

When you submit citations, the service processes the citation text, extracted DOI, title, year, and verification metadata. Citation queries may be sent to CrossRef, OpenAlex, and Semantic Scholar.

AI Summary

AI summary is optional. It sends only a compact report summary and the highest-risk items to the configured AI provider. It does not change citation verdicts.

Analytics

If analytics are enabled, we collect product usage events such as verification started, verification completed, report copied, report downloaded, and AI summary clicked. These events help improve the MVP.

Feedback

If you submit feedback, we store the feedback choice, coarse report counts, timestamp, user agent, and IP address for abuse prevention.

Sensitive Content

Do not submit private, confidential, medical, legal, or unpublished full manuscripts. CiteGuard is built for reference lists and citation metadata, not sensitive documents.
